Play Responsibly
At Quebec Casino, we want your play to stay fun, relaxed and within budget. On this page, you can learn about the tools you set for yourself, when each change kicks in, and where to reach free, confidential help.
Keeping play fun
Our games are intended as entertainment for adults who enjoy them. Each casino game has a house edge, which means a win is never guaranteed and losses are part of playing. We offer simple tools, train our staff to spot warning signs and step in when a player's gambling appears to be slipping out of balance.
- Never stake more than you could comfortably lose.
- Pick your spending and time limits before your session starts.
- Never chase losses with bigger bets.
- Take regular pauses, and skip playing when tired, after drinking or when feeling low.
Changing your limits
- Lowering a limit takes effect instantly.
- Raising or removing a limit comes into force only once 24 hours have passed.
- Until those 24 hours pass, your existing limit continues to apply.
This delay lets you reflect on the change before playing with a higher limit.
Finding free support
Free, confidential help for players and their families is available from the organisations below:
- 211 Alberta
- Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline
- ConnexOntario
- Gamblers Anonymous
- Internet Matters
Parents looking to protect their children on the internet can start with Internet Matters, a useful resource.
Using your play tools
You manage all of these from your account settings, or by emailing our team.
Spending and betting limits
You can set caps on your deposits, your total wagering and the stake on any single bet. After you reach a limit, you cannot go beyond it until the next limit period begins.
Session reminders
Reality checks pop up on screen to show your time played and your wins and losses in the session. Time alerts let you choose how often a reminder appears, so you always know when to stop.
Cooling-off break
Need some time off? Set a pause that lasts between 24 hours and six weeks. During the pause, you can't sign in, play or add funds, and promotions are paused. You get back into your account once the pause ends.
Self-exclusion
When a brief pause is not sufficient, self-exclusion locks your account for a longer time. We also end all marketing to you and do all we can to prevent a new account being opened in your name.
Account closure
Want to stop for good? Email us to ask for permanent closure. We will then shut your account and return any remaining balance to your verified payment method.
Self-assessment quiz
A short set of questions to help you look honestly at your habits. More on this below.
Identity and location checks
Before any money goes into your account, we verify your ID, check that you are of age and confirm where you live, to make sure you play from a place where we accept players. These checks keep accounts secure and keep minors out.
Protecting young people
Only players aged 19+ can join Quebec Casino, nobody younger. We verify age before any deposit, we close any account we later find belongs to a minor, and our Underage Gambling Policy page gives families practical tips.
Checking your habits
Taking the self-assessment quiz is private and needs only a few minutes. Example questions include:
- Do you regularly spend more than you intended?
- Have you borrowed money or sold things to fund your play?
- Do you hide your gambling from people close to you?
- Do you become irritable or restless when trying to cut down?
- Do you play to win back what you lost?
If any answer is yes, please use the tools above and contact one of the organisations listed. Speaking up early makes a real difference.
